Our three hour Latte Art workshop designed by Andy Liu will give you the core skills that are needed to make the perfect cup.

With the rise of specialty tea. More and more people have started to pay attention to it. Great quality tea tastes different. Here at Roastville, we love discovering the culture, background, processes and brewing methods behind quality tea.

We will also guide you on how to make your own tea blend. We believe each ingredient is vital in the creation of a quality tea blead.

  4. Ayurveda and tea in India: the holistic powers of tea & spices, the origins of tea plantations in India and brewing methods for the perfect, traditional pot of Chai.

Andy Liu is tea enthusiast from Sydney who has been working with tea for the last 3 years. He has recently won the 2nd world tea brewing championship 2017. He also has an excellent tasting palate and can guide you to develop your sensory skills.

There are so many ways to drink coffee, here at RV we love brewing because we can taste the true flavour/characteristics from the coffee itself.

There are many variables through the whole brewing process, and we will show you how to showcase coffee using different brewing methods

What you will learn:

  1. Coffee cupping, understanding of each single origin coffee, process, varietals
  2. Roasting related to brewing
  3. Particle sizes, grinding
  4. Choose the right water, and how does water effect taste
  5. Introduction of brewing, ratio, brewing technic
  6. Manual brewing in different devices, v60, Chemex, Aeropress, Syphon, Cold brew
  7. Homebrewing

 

Andy Liu is a coffee innovator who is currently working at Latorre Dutch coffee. He has been in the coffee industry for more than 10 years and achieved a few barista championship winning awards. He was the 1st place of NSW barista champion 2015, Cup of Excellence judger and qualified Q Grader.

What You Will Learn:

1. Tasting an array of coffees from different origins around the world
2. Coffee Fragrance and Aroma Analysis
3.Introduction to coffee flavour profile
4.Learn how to evaluate: Flavour, Aroma, Aftertaste, Acidity, Body, Uniformity, Balance and Sweetness.

Maximum class size: 6 students – We like to keep our class sizes small!
